When all of Alaska Airlines' equipment is considered, Los Angeles to Monterrey is its only brand-new service among 13 routes that will take off this week.
All the others will resume after last being served in early January or seasonally last year.
According to ch-aviation, the carrier has 86 E175s, 44 operated by Horizon Air and 42 by SkyWest.
There are 76 seats in both instances: 12 in first class, 16 in premium class, and 48 in the main cabin. The first aircraft was delivered almost a decade ago, in June 2015.
Cirium Diio data shows that Alaska Airlines' average E175-operated flight will cover 400 nautical miles (741 km) this year. As shown below, that's the lowest average to date.
This partly reflects the regional jet moving into the territory of the Dash 8 Q400, whose activity declined annually until the final aircraft was retired in January 2023.
When the type's overall network is considered, Seattle has 35% of flights, followed by Portland with 24%. The E175 operates 40% of Alaska Airlines' total services.
Alaska Airlines' 10 longest E175 routes
The following table shows them. The number one entry is Portland to Fairbanks. Not only is it the first time it has seen the E175, but Alaska Airlines is returning to the market after last serving it 11 years ago with the Boeing 737.
Booking data shows that Portland is Fairbanks' sixth-largest unserved domestic city.
In contrast, the Alaskan city ranks 32nd from Portland, with the distance and the number of one-stop options meaning many Midwest and East Coast markets do not have non-stop flights.
The table is based on the whole year, so changes may occur. Nonetheless, the following is what's available as of February 12.
