Chaotic moment screaming Frontier Airlines passenger is tied up in his seat for punching window

Passengers aboard a Frontier flight had to restrain an unruly patron after he punched out a window on the jet.

Footage captured aboard Flight 4856 from Denver to Houston showed the unknown man frantically lashing out at his fellow passengers on Tuesday night.

Those onboard had to resort to using shoelaces and zip ties to restrain him following the violent outburst, which saw him punch through the plexiglass of a window.

Another clip captured on the jet showed him screaming at those onboard prior to being held down, while images of the window show it bloodied and broken.

Tanner Phillips had been aboard the flight and was one of those who pinned the man down.

The former Army soldier told ABC13: 'He was very physical. I picked him up and put him on the ground. It took a couple of guys to get his arms behind him and secured.

'There's like lots of women and kids on the flight. Obviously, so I just wanted to help as much as I could.

'We put (our) hands on him and were able to secure him. Someone had zip ties, and someone else took their bootlace off and helped us out.'

Jessica Brown had also been on the flight, telling Fox: 'It was absolutely chaotic. The most terrifying thing I've ever been through.

'We turned around, and we saw this guy just punching out the window, and immediately we screamed for help. I just thought we are not having another 9-11.

I was just so thankful that my husband and the other men jumped in immediately, so he didn't break the second panel of the window.'

Flyer Chloe Starcevic told Fox: 'I was absolutely terrified. My anxiety was really bad. Me and my mom were shaking the whole time, and we were praying the whole time.

'I didn't know what was going to happen. It was really scary. I didn't know what was going to happen to all of us. I was really concerned for my dad.'

The flight managed to land at George Bush Intercontinental Airport safely, with the Houston Police Department being called.

According to police, the man had been trying to speak with a woman in the seat in front of him, but she did not respond.

They said that this caused him to start lashing out at the seat and the plane window. Frontier Airlines have also declined to press charges against him, according to ABC.

The passengers that Fox News spoke with said that he appeared to be suffering from a mental health crisis.

A spokesperson for the airline referred inquiries about the incident to the Houston Police Department, who DailyMail.com have contacted.

It comes after passengers on a American Airlines flight had to restrain a man who was allegedly violent on a flight from Miami, Florida, to Charlotte, North Carolina.

One sternly told the passenger to take his hands off the woman sitting next to him as a female flight attendant tries to mediate.

'Do not f***ing touch her,' one man could be heard shouting in the passenger's face, before he apparently gave an inaudible excuse.

'I don't give a f***,' the man responds as the passenger argues that he took his hands off the woman. 'Look at me, you f***ed up, You don't f***ing touch her.'

'Two customers traveling together were engaged in an altercation aboard American Airlines flight 310 with service from Miami to Charlotte on Oct. 2,' a spokesperson said. 'Local law enforcement responded and escorted the customers from the CLT airport.

'We do not tolerate violence, and we thank our team members for their professionalism in managing a difficult situation.'
