Christian Horner pinpoints Max Verstappen’s tremendous behind-the-scenes efforts in 2024 title fight

   

Red Bull faced a performance slump midway through the 2024 season. The Austrian team was struggling with balance issues of the RB20.

Christian Horner pointed out that despite the problems, Max Verstappen had managed to take second place at Silverstone and Zandvoort. As the 27-year-old kept scoring points consistently.

Through the summer months when we were struggling a bit with the car, he [Max Verstappen] was still second in Silverstone and Zandvoort, he was still picking up big podiums and results.

Moreover, Horner asserted that Max Verstappen was working hard back at Milton Keynes. The four-time world champion stayed in touch with engineers and designers over the car’s issues.

Christian Horner claimed that Verstappen had never put such tremendous efforts in any previous season.

Behind the scenes he was putting a massive amount of effort in with the engineers, designers and on the simulator – more than any of the previous years.

The Red Bull team boss claimed that Verstappen has been incredible in and outside of the RB20 cockpit.

The reigning world champion inspired the entire team through his focus and determination. Horner praised Verstappen’s phenomenal work ethic when the 27-year-old was working with engineers.

He’s been outstanding this year – not only what he’s done inside the cockpit, and I think he’s inspired within and outside the cockpit, the way he has conducted himself and worked with the engineers and all the technical staff, has been phenomenal.

Certainly, Max Verstappen had the hunger to win the 2024 title. The four-time world champion still remains focused on ending the season on a high note with Red Bull.

It will be interesting to see if the Dutch driver can win a race in the final two rounds of the year.
