Genesis GV80 becomes invisible in the dark of night with All Out Black package

As of this week, blackness is the defining trait of the GV80 in both standard and coupe guise.

And by blackness I really mean that, as dark tones have been included on pretty much all elements of the SUV, both on the outside and inside.

A simple look at the thing reveals that absolutely all visible exterior elements of the vehicle are now almost invisible in the dark of night: the main bodywork, its component parts (the radiator grille, bumper garnish, front emblem, daylight opening molding, roof racks, and rear bumper molding), but also the ones that require a bit of effort to be seen – things like like the headlamp inner side bezels, for instance.

The wheels, which on these models are sized at 22 inches in diameter, are equally black, and feature floating center caps in, you guessed it, black – this wheel design is, in fact, a defining trait of this kind of this special edition version of the Genesis vehicles.

Rounding everything off on the outside is a Genesis emblem in dark metallic lettering fitted on the tailgate.

The interior was drowned in darkness as well, and that's a bit of a bold approach, given how people likely don't feel very comfortable driving around in bleak colors spread around pretty much everywhere.

The upholstery, door panels, and dashboard could already be had in this color, but now Genesis took things one step further by accenting everything in black: knobs, switches, the glass accents of the shift-by-wire (SBW) system, as well as the leather stitching and button that opens the glove compartment.

To tone things down a bit, the carmaker did let real wood garnish slip through the cracks here and there.

The South Korean carmaker made no mention of where the model will be offered or when it will become available to purchase.

In the U.S., at the time of writing, both the 2024 and 2025 model year SUVs are listed.

The more recent version of the vehicle can be had for prices that start at $57,700 for the 2.5T Standard version with all-wheel drive, but can get to as much as $79,300 for the 3.5T Prestige trim, also in a all-wheel drive configuration.

In all, and not including the Black that was just announced, the South Koreans offer no less than six versions of the GV80 for American buyers.
