Trackhouse Racing debuted in MotoGP at the start of the 2024 season. The satellite Aprilia team allowed the premier class of motorbike racing to crack into the American market.
The team had decent levels of success in their rookie season, but more is expected of them in 2025. For their second season in the series, the team has retained Raul Fernandez and signed Moto2 World Champion, Ai Ogura.
At the 2025 team launch Trackhouse Racings Owner, Justin Marks, spoke about Trackhouse Racings' position ahead of the new season.
"We are really excited," Marks told MotoGP.com. "That first year in a new Championship there was a lot to learn for me and a number of people in the team.
Now we are starting to figure out how the MotoGP programme fits into the big Trackhouse picture. Everybody is just so excited that we are competing in this Championship.
"I am excited for 2025, I think the Aprilia bike is going to be fast, Raul [Fernandez] continues to get better, and we are super excited about Ai [Ogura] coming on board. We are ready to go testing and get the ball rolling on the season."
Marks went on to discuss Fernandez ahead of his fourth season in the MotoGP World Championship. The Spaniard is expected to lead the American team in 2025 and podiums are the aim for the 24-year-old.
"We are super excited to have Raul [Fernandez], there were times in 2024 when he showed incredible speed," Marks explained.
"He has taken a big step this offseason in his preparation, his mentality, understanding the bike and where he needs to be on a race weekend in his mind. We are excited about that step for him, I think there are podiums in our future.
"If the speed is there and the bike is there, we certainly have lots of talent in our engineers.
If you look back at some races in 2024 we had some front row starts, we led some laps, we were up there at the front, it just shows that we have the pieces and Raul has the talent to compete at the front in MotoGP. So, we are certainly looking for more of that."
As well as Fernandez, Marks is excited about the arrival of Ogura to his MotoGP team. The Japanese rider dominated the 2024 Moto2 World Championship and many expect him to become a MotoGP superstar.
"I love rookies. I love taking unrefined raw talent and putting them in these new positions and giving them the support to mature into top-level professional athletes," Marks stated. "
When we signed and announced Ai [Ogura] I don't think he was leading the points in Moto2. He was really in this battle for the World Championship and when it became public that he was joining our team he went on a tear.
"He won the Moto2 World Championship and showed what he is made of. When you look at the crop of talent coming into MotoGP what more could you want than the Moto2 World Champion? We are super excited about his talent."
