JetBlue adds new summer routes from Boston & New York

JetBlue has announced its new summer schedule, which includes route additions from Boston, New York, and cities in New England, namely Providence, Rhode Island, and Hartford, Connecticut.

JetBlue said that it is making summer travel even more exciting by adding new cities and routes to its network, offering its passengers more options to reach their favorite destinations.

The airline emphasized that the network moves were part of its JetForward strategy that it announced in July 2024, which included a short-term focus on adding more Airbus A220-300 aircraft to its fleet and alterations to its network, namely the elimination of its unprofitable routes.

“Whether it’s a relaxing coastal escape, an urban adventure, or a nature-filled getaway, JetBlue has something for everyone.”

JetBlue will focus on becoming the airline with the best leisure network on the East Coast, which will include additions of five new destinations to its route map, including two new international airports:

• Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Canada (YHZ)
• Norfolk International Airport (ORF)
• San Pedro Sula La Mesa International Airport, Honduras (SAP)
• Traverse City Cherry Capital Airport (TVC)
• Wilmington International Airport (ILM)

The carrier stated that it is going to strengthen its position as the leading leisure airline at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) by unveiling five new routes for “summer escapes.” Four of these routes are brand-new additions to its network.

The new routes from Boston include the already-known flights to Edinburgh Airport (EDI) and Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD), which will begin on May 22, 2025.

The new routes, all of which will be seasonal-only and start on various dates between April and June, will result in an “industry-leading” 77 direct connections from Boston.

Daniel Shurz, the head of revenue at JetBlue, said that the airline is continuing to focus on growing its leisure network in Boston.

The carrier knows that customers across New England love taking advantage of its excellent service and competitive fares for their summer vacations, and as such, JetBlue anticipates these destinations to be extremely popular.

Meanwhile, it will also add flights from Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD) and Bradley International Airport (BDL) to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

Flights from Providence-Rhode Island International to Tampa International Airport (TPA) and from Hartford-Bradley International to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) will become a year-round service.

“JetBlue recently made Portland, Maine, a year-round destination, and next week, it will start service in Manchester, New Hampshire, with multiple routes to Florida.”

Summarizing the new routes from New York, which include new connections from JFK, LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Shurz said that JetBlue is introducing even more travelers to its industry-leading service, strengthening its position in New York as the East Coast’s leisure airline.

“We’re excited to build on our momentum, offering customers across the Northeast and beyond even more travel opportunities.”

Some highlights include daily flights from New York-JFK to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), which will resume on March 30 and continue year-round, and new daily itineraries to Hartford-Bradley, Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW), Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), and San Pedro Sula.

From Newark, JetBlue is relaunching up to two daily services to Santo Domingo Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) and starting three daily runs to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Both will be operated during the summer season only, and the flights to the latter will have Mint-equipped cabins.

The company also pointed out that across Latin America and the Caribbean, it will be enhancing connections in addition to the new flights from Boston and/or New York.

This includes a new daily flight between Guatemala City La Aurora International Airport (GUA) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), complementing the existing New York-JFK to Guatemala City connection.

JetBlue noted that its flights from Boston to Madrid, New York-JFK to San Pedro Sula, and Newark to Santo Domingo were still subject to government approval.
