Lamborghini Temerario UK pricing announced, Alleggerita version costs nearly £300k

Speaking of which, EVO Magazine correctly notes that Lamborghini's hugely impressive Huracan Tecnica is a full £85,000 more affordable when compared to the Alleggerita-spec Temerario.

As implied, Alleggerita comprises performance upgrades, beginning with lightweight goodies.

In addition to reducing the weight by over 25 kilograms (55 pounds) in combination with carbon-fiber wheels, Alleggerita improves aero efficiency and total downforce by 62 and 67 percent.

£297,235 for the Alleggerita is more than 30 grand pricier than the base Temerario, which is already more expensive than its chief rival from the Prancing Horse of Maranello.

Similar to the McLaren Artura, the Ferrari 296 packs a wide-angled V6 in combination with a plug-in setup as opposed to V8 plug-in hybrid muscle for the all-new Temerario.

Although the naturally aspirated V10 we all know and love will be dearly missed, try looking at the bigger picture.

Lamborghini still offers a free-breathing lump in the Italian automaker's flagship model, whereas the Revuelto's V8-powered sibling features the highest-revving turbocharged V8 in production today.

A flat-plane design as opposed to a cross-plane crankshaft for the Volkswagen Group's 4.0-liter TFSI, the Lamborghini-specific lump is much obliged to hit 10,000 revolutions per minute.

While not as exotic or aurally pleasant as the V10 it replaces, the new engine is – without a shadow of a doubt – a technical marvel in a day and age when increasingly draconic fuel economy and emission regulations hinder internal combustion vehicles.

The plug-in part of the powertrain helps the Temerario in this regard, but also benefits performance.

Torque vectoring is the specialty of the front-mounted electric motors, and in EV mode, Temerario is – believe it or not – a front-drive supercar.

As for the rear-mounted electric motor, that one provides near-instant torque fill to combat turbo lag.

Speaking of snails, the L411 engine is rated 800 cavalli vapore at 9,000 rpm and 730 Newton-meters (538 pound-feet) from 4,000 to 7,000 rpm.

Stupidly impressive for 4.0 liters of displacement, although not as impressive as the system total output.

According to Lamborghini, the plug-in hybrid supercar makes 920 cv or 907 mechanical ponies at full chatter. By comparison, the 5.2-liter Huracan and 5.0-liter Gallardo launched with 610 cv (602 hp) and 500 cv (493 hp), respectively.

Slotted between the plug-in hybrid Urus SE and the plug-in hybrid Revuelto, the plug-in hybrid Temerario features a 3.8-kWh battery packed within the central tunnel. Believe it or not, zero-emission range still isn't known.

We do, however, know that Revuelto also packs 3.8 kilowatt hours from its high-voltage battery. The WLTP estimate for electric driving range in the flagship's case is a pitiful 10 kilometers or just over 6 miles.
