Laverty and Hodgson: "Marquez won't do anything stupid in Barcelona, but he'll want to win."

Martin's 24-point lead over Bagnaia puts him in a safe position in the final fight for the world title at the Barcelona circuit this upcoming weekend.

Jorge's advantage is so clear that he could take the title as early as Saturday's Sprint, since he'll only need two more points over Pecco.

But we can't forget that Marc Marquez will also be in the game, in his last Grand Prix as a private rider before switching to the factory team and as Francesco Bagnaia's  teammate.

But do you think this will affect his riding enough to prevent him from tipping the scales like what already happened in 2015?

"Now he's more mature in his approach. He wouldn't interfere in the fight between Jorge and Pecco," Michael Laverty told TNT Sports.

"He could overtake, but only when possible without taking a risk. Even if  he's a killer, I think he'd err on the side of caution.

But there's no doubt that he'll influence the outcome by making points or making life difficult for other riders."

Neil Hodgson added: "Marc won't do anything stupid. Is a third place in the championship is important to him? A win is more important."

As we already mentioned, another complication is the situation in which Marquez will end up in 2025.

Should Bagnaia lose the title, Pecco will be even more motivated and, of course, Marc will want to keep himself out of any possible controversy.
