The Boeing 757 is a medium-haul narrowbody airliner with the reach to bridge the East Coast of the United States with Western Europe.
That said, many of the Boeing 757s don't actually make the full transatlantic crossing as many are flown by Icelandair to Iceland in the mid-Atlantic (although Iceland is also considered Europe).
Icelandair's Boeing 757s are currently in a state of change and Icelandair plans to fly its new Airbus A321LRs from Iceland to Seattle.
Here are all the transatlantic routes for the Boeing 757 for the month of November, according to Cirium.
Only two airlines are scheduled to operate transatlantic flights with the Boeing 757: Icelandair and United Airlines.
Icelandair is scheduled to operate a single flight from Reykjavík to Keflavík Airport (Iceland's main airport and Icelandair's hub) to Boston, as well as a single flight to New York JFK.
Icelandair is also scheduled to operate just two flights to Denver International Airport.
It is unclear why there are so few flights to Boston, New York-JFK, and Denver. It may be because it is the beginning of Iceland's winter season, or it could be because Icelandair is in the process of phasing out and retiring its Boeing 757s in favor of its new Airbus A321LRs.
Or it could be substituting them with other aircraft (like Boeing 737 MAX 8s and Boeing 767s). My reported in September that the first A321LRs had appeared bearing Icelandair livery.
The more substantial routes scheduled by Icelandair are from Reykavik to Orlando (11 flights and 2,013 seats), Portland, Oregon (17 flights and 3,114 seats, and Seattle (11 flights and 2,015 seats).
My previously reported that Icelandair was expected to have retired a Boeing 757-300 that served the Orlando route on October 28. However, one was shown flying to/from Orlando on October 30/31. Data from Cirium suggests more are expected to fly in November.
Icelandair's remaining Boeing 757s are running on borrowed time. The last of its Boeing 757-300s are expected to be retired during the 2024-2025 winter season and its fleet of Boeing 757-200s will follow them into retirement in 2026.
United Airlines is scheduled to operate three transatlantic flights to Europe - Dublin, Edinburgh, and the Canary Islands.
This means that no Boeing 757s are scheduled to fly transatlantic to the European mainland in November. All routes are to islands (Iceland, Ireland, Great Britain, and Tenerife).
United Airlines is flying daily (30 flights for November) flights from Washington-Dulles to Dublin, the capital of Ireland.
This route will carry 5,580 seats across the Atlantic for a total of 17,978,400 ASMs. United's other daily route is from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey to Edinburgh in Scotland.
The figures for this route are the same as the Dublin route (30 monthly flights with 5,280 seats).
The third United route is from Newark to Tenerife South Airport in the Spanish Canary Islands off the coast of Africa.
The route is scheduled to operate 13 flights in November with 2,288 seats and 7,651,072 ASMs.
