Morbidelli: "Marquez and Bagnaia with the 2024 engine? I don't think about their choices."

One of the most pleasant surprises this Wednesday in Buriram was Franco Morbidelli. The Pertamina VR46 rider ended the first day in third position, once again confirming to be with the best.

Franco is aware of and, at the same time, confident with what he demonstrated on the GP24.

"I think it's great to be up there in front again," he began. "We finished the day proving we're strong.

But we also had problems and, at one point, we feared we weren't going to be able to return to the track for the last laps.

The team worked really well, solving these unexpected problems."

How do you explain this competitiveness?

"I really like Buriram and the bike is great. I think it's important to have this feeling in terms of speed.

Obviously, we're just at the beginning, and tomorrow we'll try to be more competitive with worn tires.

We'll have to prepare ourselves in view of the race, since we start in just two weeks."

How satisfied are you?

"Very. I'd say ten. It isn't easy to explain with numbers, but I'm very happy with what we've done."

Franco, apparently, Marquez and Bagnaia chose the GP24 engine.

"To be honest, I wasn't thinking about it, because I'm focused on doing the best with my team and the bike I have, taking advantage of this attitude.

The factory riders will then make their own choices."
