Last weekend the traditional TT Christmas was held at Rocco's Ranch.
The event brings together the great riders from different world categories, as well as the great Legends of motorcycling in a very special event for fans of two wheels.
One of those present was Pedro Acosta, who shared some of his impressions for Nico Abad's YouTube channel.
The driver admitted that, despite his competitive nature and hunger for victory, the date at Rocco's Ranch is more 'informal'.
"There is no plan. I come, I have a good time, I have a laugh with people I don't see all year. I think that's the fun of the party," he said.
Acosta was also able to speak with other riders such as Aleix Espargaró and Jorge Martin, “a little more relaxed and not under all the stress of the world championship”.
In addition, the Murcia native was able to meet up with one of his great friends. “I hadn’t seen Remy [Gardner] for a long time. I think spending a day with him is also good for me, a little to clear my head” .
The Murcia native also gave a very positive assessment of the evolution of the event. “The truth is that every year they improve. Every year they put on a bigger show, I think that is why so many people come,” he said.
Acosta is also one of the 'veterans' in the TT Christmas, after four years competing. Even so, he assures that “I never look at the classification.” “I come, I race, I have a good time and then I go to lunch. I go with little pressure,” he said.
However, off the track there is growing uncertainty about what will happen to KTM.
The Austrian brand is going through a difficult financial situation which has forced it to make significant cuts in recent weeks.
However, they assure that MotoGP will not be affected, nor will their riders.
In the case of Acosta, who has a two-year contract as a factory rider, he is calm.
“We don’t have to worry. At the end of the day, we know how strong KTM is; and in the four years I have been there, the thing they have taught me the least is to cry. Mr. Pierer will continue forward as he has always done. It is not the first time that we have been in a difficult situation,” he concluded.
