Ex-F1 driver claims Lando Norris will go into 2025 knowing ‘he can beat Max Verstappen’

Norris started the race in pole position but could not hold on to his lead.

Lando Norris has had a mixed 2024 season so far. Despite winning three races and amassing 12 podiums, the Brit has been shaky in crucial moments of a race.

He has won only twice out of seven pole starts this campaign. On the other hand, Max Verstappen has been consistent with his efforts all season long.

Johnny Herbert has since urged Norris to infer some lessons from this season’s battles with Max Verstappen.

Herbert is also convinced that the Woking-based team will be better equipped for the year ahead.

McLaren will learn for next year and have a stronger mindset. Lando will go into 2025 knowing he can beat Max. There are others too, such as Oscar and George who are only going to get stronger.

With only three races to go Verstappen leads the drivers’ championship by 62 points to second-placed Norris.

The 24-year-old must nevertheless try to make the most out of the last few races for his team.

Max Verstappen’s stupendous triumph at Interlagos was appreciated by drivers both on and off the grid.

Amongst some notable names was Verstappen’s championship rival Lando Norris, who commented on the former’s Instagram post.

Lando Norris appreciated the Dutchman despite pinpointing the latter’s win to sheer luck.

The 24-year-old initially claimed that Verstappen won because a red flag allowed him to put on fresher tires during the race.

The two drivers have fought tooth and nail for wins and podiums all season long. On some occasions, Norris has come up trumps, while in some Verstappen has been the man of the hour.

Nevertheless, the two have shared a bond of mutual respect and friendship ever since their early days in Formula 1.
